Quiet

It's so quiet tonight.
I'm so awake tonight.
Hazy light in the garden
distant symphony of good bugs & bad bugs
from the trees above
Sweet silence
as if
I can't remember
a time so
still,
like I've forgotten,
the depth
of silence.
Noises come and go in the background
but nothing penetrates
this sweet space
my thoughts rolling gently
around in my mind
grand spaciousness
a place, a time
to relax
to wonder
to dream
to relish in the fantasies
of what if
and where to.
Simply delighted to occupy
this space today.
learning to dive into the cool waters,
remembering what it feels like
to be
alive.

Many Pathways to the Sun

Across the water
I can see where I've been
Places visited
Sights seen
With eyes long forgotten.
I see pathways
Crissed & crossed
A younger self
Weaving stories
As I walk
The arc of growth & expansion
Rising to greet
A forgiving skyline.
Fire illuminates the bay
Sun dancing across its surface
In sparkling waves
And three bridges bind
This space in time
Guardians of memory,
Transformation.
Oh, to build a boat with this pen
Sails from this paper
Not to sail away
But to sail in.
Wind & water
Song & grace
A piece of
A part of
A dream of
Resonant mirror.
Sky above
Bird calls
Noticing
& listening -
There are many pathways to the sun.
